Big West For Sure
On Sunday December 2 I speculated that this swell now in the history books could trigger the big wave spots both here and in Hawaii. That proved to be true and in reality I underestimated the actual size and power of this swell.
Not only did Mavs go mega supersized, but Ghost Trees absolutely went off as did numerous spots well known and secret all over NorCal. Sadly, the surf at Ghost Trees claimed the life of well known and respected big wave rider Pete Davi.
The graphs here represent a visual image of the coming and going of this swell which will be remembered for a long time. The pics are frame grabs thanks to Surfline.com. They do an incredible job covering the surfing news we all like to read. Thanks to the crew and everyone who makes it happen at Surfline.
